Additional Information Fifteen editions of Small's 'Manual' were published between the 1854 first edition and the fifteenth and final edition of 1879. The author was an 1841 graduate of the Pennsylvania Medical College (Philadelphia), the author of several books on homeopathy for professional and lay audiences, a member of the faculty of the Homoeopathic Medical College of Pennsylvania, general secretary of the American Institute of Homoeopathy (1849-50), president of the Hahnemann Medical College and Hospital (Chicago) and the editor of the 'Philadelphia Journal of Homoeopathy (1855-56) and the 'United States Medical and Surgical Journal' (1870-74).
