Additional Information | Stock cards were available in an almost endless range of shapes and sizes. The firm of Craig and Elliot printed these fan-shaped trade cards illustrated with children's faces. The designer did not leave sufficient blank space for text, however, and thus the names of Ten Eyck and Browne, the proprietors of the City Drug Store in Cohoes, New York, are difficult to decipher amidst the decoration on the fans. William H. Helfand, from 'The Picture of Health: Images of Medicine and Pharmacy from the William H. Helfand Collection' (1991), p. 122. |
