Description | Augustus James Pleasonton (1808-1894) published a book in Philadelphia in 1877 suggesting that light rays filtered through blue glass could arrest disease and restore health in both acute and chronic disorders for humans and domestic animals. So well-known were Pleasonton's radical ideas that they inspired several pieces of popular dance music. Illustrating Pleasonton's theory, this sheet music cover shows a young man setting aside his crutches as a result of the blue glass treatment. |
