Additional Information Barton divides his treatise according to body region or organ system, e.g. diseases of the mouth and throat, diseases of the stomach and bowels, diseases of the liver etc. In the text he occasionally provides the formula for a remedy that can be prepared at home, but more often refers the reader to one of thirty-four numbered remedies in the chest that Barton prepared and sold. The composition of these medicines is provided on p.183-195. The author was an 1879 graduate of the medical college of Ohio (Cincinnati).
